In my first year at Vodafone, I worked as a design lead across multiple consumer projects including My Vodafone App, Retail & IoT websites and the chatbot.I then spent two years as lead product designer on Source, Vodafone's global design system.
During this time I was the only designer on Source and from the start of the project I worked on the original audit & tool selection, hands-on setting up the assets, aligning requirements, driving adoption & support and working with the development team to start the coded library. I also recommended the strategy of using Source to power Vodafone sub-brands without compromising each identity or experience.By the time I left Vodafone, Source had roughly 200+ designers and developers across 16 countries using the system every month. It is being used by major projects like the My Vodafone App and Web (for both consumer and business teams) and unique projects like M-Pesa.My initial goal for Source was to make the lives of the Vodafone designers easier, and with feedback that the average time saving for projects using Source is 40%, we started to reach that goal.”How Vodafone built one of Europe’s biggest design systems”.
